Does anyone think Porsche decision makers read any of these forums (6speed or other) to gage the likes, dislikes and desires of their customer base? Or do they stick to conventional wisdom of Porsche knows best and whatever they build will be bought?

 

I know for a fact that there is at least one person "assigned" to read Rennlist and report anything significant weekly. What qualifies as significant I don't know.

Not sure about Porsche, but maybe....My old BMW boards were viewed by BMW Customer Service...they even posted once in awhile, when a lot of people had the same problem....people would post all the time about them emailing or calling to resolved their problem!!

it's more like, we noticed you on 6speedonline.com and noticed your car does not have the stock ECU, therefore we are dropping your warranty for that turbo that wore out at 10K even though we know it was most likely a manufacturers defect.

 

I hope not! They must really hate people like us that go nutty with mods of our own instead of the X50...

I'm pretty sure that they do browse these popular forums to gauge what their customers like and dislike about their cars. I know that BMW is always browsing sites like www.bimmer.org and www.bmwm5.com.

There were a few instances on bimmer.org when a thread was started by someone complaining about certain issues, and after a few days, there were responses posted by BMW reps.

Hopefully, if Porsche reads this site, with all the mods that people have done here as well as upgrades, maybe they will get the hint and make 550hp standard!!

Seriously they're loud as XXX but you can easily swap 'em on and off.

 

Heh, they are only temporary, but yea I talked to him about tips and said he didn't do it because he thought they would be used for track, but then came Alex . I have to send them back when I get my Supersport back... He said the only way to put the tips on these would be to design them with an S bend, he said maybe one day...

on the SSK part, i heard a source said either the Porsche buy the kit from B&M or the company made the B&M kit is making the same for Porsche.

how much is the SSK when ordering as a option?

 

I'm having my DV's replaced tomorrow (heard some "honking")....under warranty...they're installing the "new" Porsche replacement DV's, which according to my dealer are likely made by EVO - anyone please comment if they have heard the same/different.

Wouldn't be surprised if this were due to discussions here etc.
