Track season 2015 completed (7:15 Nürburgring lap)
(by the way it isnt a cargraphic exhaust (it is a milteck with 100zell HJS...only labels from cargraphic)
I feel funny when people tell it sounds good on the vid while to my ears it's pretty dull compared to earlier sound with sport headers and normal tail pipes. In the vid I have stock headers plus the tail pipes turned downwards in order to reduce some decibels. But sure, Speedtech X-flow sounds good!
Btw. my turned down tailpipes haven't really helped with decibels. It's becoming ridiculous what some people have to do on some tracks. For example, all these crazy cool turbo'd time attack cars from Sweden:
Btw. This winter after many seasons at the track I did an engine overhaul. Engine's ready but don't have all the details from the builder. It was a basic refresh as I have been happy with the stock engine. Stronger rods were installed if extra power is needed one day
The great thing was the engine was in great shape after many years of hard Autobahn and track driving use. E.g. no need for new pistons etc.
Some parts here and there have got destroyed with the hard use, but Mezger still the king!

Kai, I just read your very detailed, informative post and watched the video! Nice job. Your car is very well done and sounds great in the video, too!
BTW, the optional 2.5 X-Flow muffler you recently purchased will result in a huge difference of sound level. I think you will be really surprised at the complete change the 2.5 will provide, as you will barely it with your helmet on. It will substantially reduce your track decibel levels.
Take care and keep safe, enjoying your car!

They were good, few kilograms lighter than original, much better sound, maybe bit better spool, however they cracked after few track seasons...Back to stock that's why.

External mufflers are used to keep the cars in compliance with the very restrictive European noise restrictions in place at many tracks.
WHAT!!

I though he was joking with those pics and that they were a photo-shopped pictures.
LOL!
weight reduction
18kg: Carbon roof instead of sunroof with alcantara headliner
-4kg: Same time with the roof conversion, plexi rear glass like GT3 RS and Cup cars
-16kg: Same time with roof conversion, got rid of rest of the rear interior carpet I had there, doesn't look bad at all with a black car and black paint
-10kg: Carbon hood (a lightweight 5kg version...many of these are 8kg+
-5kg: Radio and speaker delete (you get a very cool Porsche radio delete console, highly recommended)
Hi Kaizu! Going to do the mods above myself this winter, how is the fit and finish for the carbon roof? my car doesnt have a sunroof so the weight reduction would be like 5kg, costy dollar/kg but might be a nice mod as removing weight from the tallest area... IS it good looking from outside and inside? like oem ? Do you mind tell me who built it for you? I have some options on the table as we speak
The rear window is it going to scratch quickly or still looking good? This has a better ratio $/kg... Did you need also an additional frame? I know window is like 250euros and frame quite the same
Carbon hood - did you still use the oem closing mechanism or gt3/997 ?
and finally - do you have the P/N for radio delete console? if not going to get the kit might install the blank plate with the Plex ebc on it, but wont look so clean as I would like
thank you... hope to reach 1400kg with 3/4 or full weight, but will add some weight here and there - tires, wheels, brakes maybe aero..
speaking of aero, your decklid is based on turbo or gt2 ? or just custom? I would raise my wing using the gt2 decklid or guess can do also a cup wing if going to completely modify it
ohhhhh and one more, the specs of Li-Ion battery if you can share.. guess the porsche 16Ah is way too much for our setups.. I would go with 9-12Ah and 550-600 crank, but maybe you can help
