Turbo pricing in Canada

For my fellow Canadian owners..

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a pretty sharp increase in 996 Turbo prices over the past few months? Check out the first page of our autotrader listings.

I only paid $45k Canadian for my car two months ago... 2001 with 67k km's on it. Now I'm seeing the vast majority priced at over $50k with some not that far off six figures?

Did I just buy at the best possible time or are all the reasonably priced cars sold and the over priced ones all that remain? Not sure...

yeah during winter only those who are not in hurry to sell are remaining.

The prices stopped dropping though and even went a little bit up, since the exchange rate came back to what it was before, it is now worthless to get a car on the other side of the border, now it is time for the American to buy on this side.

I sold mine in the wrong time i guess

This reversal of depreciation on the later 996 TT's especially has been being predicted for a while now. Makes me feel pretty good with my '04 TT Cab going up in value rather than down.

I also paid $45 for my 03 in the summer, 73K very clean with a few mods. There are a few dreamers that have had the cars for a long time. Adjusted to US, prices are still appealing.

Generally speaking, prices are starting to go up. That trend will accelerate as we approach the spring.

Having said that, if you follow the market daily, there are some terrific outliers on left side of the price curve.

One over on Rennlist right now for 41k that is way underpriced given current market so someone is going to get a steal. The guy has a GT4 on order so he is moving this one at a great price.
