Ok now fitted permanently the tape will hold these HOWEVER I am wary of the stock ducts being torn from the fenders, I think I will have to use 1 self tapping screw to secure the stock duct.

I wouldn't use rivets, Johnny. As all things 996 tt go up in price, I've recently seen a set of OEM ducts advertised at €550. You'll be able to get any glue or double sided tape of with some work and all the ducts will need is paint. If you've drilled holes... I'd trust Joe.

Speaking of OEM ducts, pwdrhound do you know what is up with mine? Is Joe still using them for production or quality control? :-))
Not in a hurry, just want to make sure they don't go amiss.
Sorry for the OT, Johnny.
Hey Steve,
Shoot Joe a PM so he can ge the ducts headed back to you. I'm sure he is done with them.

With that double row it will only come off with a high E guitar string . I think they look great and I'm betting very effective!

Very much looking forward to performance data, drooling here lol! I've been monitoring my temps and got a chance to beat on the car some in the cool air recently, temps exiting the ICs remain cool as can be and I look forward to turning it up. I want to do most anything I can to push air through those suckers so I really look forward to seeing performance data. So far they look terrific on a black car I think but I'm a little wary of what they might look like on my silver car

I dont think you could put carbon on silver but body colour would look just fine.

OK guys not as clinical as I would like but got some data from a couple of pulls tonight, outside temp was 12.5/13 centigrade so similar to last logs I sent to mapper

@105mph 36.8 dgrees
@ 125mph 41.6
@ 160mph 49.4

so thats under 50 degrees in 5th, the car was going into 50 degrees by 4th before, the interesting thing is how quick the ACT goes down after you let off the throttle its like its being pulled down by something, im going to send the logs off and will hopefully get something back I can put up as jpeg etc. It appears to be around 10 degrees cooler (centigrade, thats 50 degrees farenheit) thru the 1,2,3,4 th pull at 1 bar boost !!!!

Am I glad I bought them? Hell yeah
Would I take them off? Hell Yeah.......... If you could ever get them off the stock ducts then pry them from my cold dead fingers !!!! These work better than I thought. Joe........................You the man !!!!

Until my mapper does his stuff and makes a comparison graph this is all I have, on the before graph you will see car is accelerating hard due to steepness of climb, thats 4th gear, second graph is after Joes scoops right into 5th

Heres a mail from my mapper

I need you to run the newer map that I sent you too, the car is still putting out knock signal on cyl4 and I want to see if the changes I made in that config are going to work. I've re-attached it and would appreciate if you can run that file, run it in high and low boost and send me the logs and I'll merge the data into one file that we can screen shot.

Temps wise, it's looking like you're 10 degrees cooler when on it - the air temp still shows 32degree when cruising but that's more due to engine bay temp than air charge temp.

Logs look better though, fueling at WOT is spot on - it's running 1/2% pull on bank1 but pulling 10% out of bank 2 at full throttle still but the final lambda numbers look a lot better and no drop in fuel pressure which is great to see.

When you're on the throttle the temps climb a lot slower with the new ducts.

New map attached.

One thing to be aware of, I *think* these cars may pick up a decent amount of heat after the intercoolers. I won't be able to prove this until I'm on a standalone but right now watching data into and out of my intercoolers I see temp differences as high as 80 degrees and intercooler exit temps that are usually within 4 degrees of ambient - hard pulls have hit 10 once. I've not pulled readings from the IAT but I'm betting they would be a good bit higher. When I've got a standalone I'll be able to more easily log IAT and may try for additional temp probes too, insulating the Y-pipe may yield temp drops.

My air temps are measured at the MAP sensor.

MAP sensor is near the throttle body yes? Don't know exactly where they get located, I'm assuming the turbo cars get those in addition to the sensor in the MAF. You're on a Syvecs so it could be anywhere. I'm saying I think after the intercoolers there's decent amounts of heat being added. Once my car is back tuned I may try to instrument further to learn more...

Your starting temp is 13, IAT is as high as 49, what's intercooler intake and exit temps? I'm thinking you may be adding heat after exit is all.

Starting temp is 30 something, the purple line is MPH, MAP is just by the throttle body.
