exactly. any good semis and a new oem t-mount are going to literally transform a car that's currently still using original and by now "funky" equipment!
I use the RSS mounts in the 997 and I prefer them over the Torque Solution ones I used in 996. I think there is less NVH from them and the benefits are the same. In 996 I used both OEM 997 trans mount and the TS Trans mount. Both worked well, this mount usually gets beat up a lot so its definitely something to keep an eye on.

I run T.S. 75a engine and trans mounts. Trans mount adds a ton of NVH but makes shifting perfect even loaded coming out of a corner.
+1 very happy with my TS mounts

any/all rubber or poly will eventually ( if not "wear out?" ) then eventually lose their malleable quality. more so rubber than poly though.
i run new wevo's and have a difficult time imagining them going before i do.

T.S. is nice stuff and priced very fair

i think the indisputable truth of the matter is, is if that you secure to the best of your parts ability the elimination of any potential for any lateral slop at the three points that secure the motor/trans etc, then you'll have done all you can do.
i find it harder to believe though, that adding poly inserts into the NEW 997 t-mounts is going to register any discernable ( to the average joe ) diminishing of lateral moment. but hey, i've been wrong as often as right... so who REALLY knows.
window weld f1 inserts, are ok. more stuff to buy. but at least one of them is only 20 bucks lol

after 10 yrs or so anything should feel better than whats in the car. doing the window weld trans mod is so cheap theres money left over for a set of t/s motor mounts which are a good quality upgrade over stock.
get a good set of semi's ( WeVo/RSS/TS/96!4 / whatever and an ssk ( 997ssk or similiar ) if you haven't already?.. and it will totally change the level of feedback the car gives you and eliminate all of the lateral slop those old parts seem to exacerbate. totally transform the car, just those couple little things.

Really no harder than on a lift, 'hardest' part is getting the undertray out, might actually easier vs a hoist.
