May be purchasing a 996tt with authentic GT3 seats in black leather. I'd rather stick with the adjustable power seats.

How much are these seats worth today? They aren't pristine. Have some wear but no tears.

Is swapping the stock seats pretty simple to do?

I say price them higher, someone will pay, they aren't made anymore and orignals are growing in value. Put it up for 5-6k, someone will pay, plenty of rich porsche owners lol.

 

I did the same seat swap about two months ago. First, I bought a set of mint condition stockers from an 04 (I have an 03 6TT) for $1000.00 shipped. The stock seats I got were in perfect condition, heated, lumbar on the driver's side and full powered. They were (sadly) not the OEM sport seats, and they don't have the embossed crests in the headrests. They are stock black leather with the OEM gray stitching.


I sold my mint condition "euro" GT3 seats seats on ebay for $3600 plus shipping. The seats sold in two days.


The switch switcheroo is very easy with four bolts per seat holding them down and a plug or two under each seat. There are some guide "pins" to lower the rear rails of the seats down into, and once in place, connect the plugs under the seat, you can prop the seats backward with a short 2X4 or similar. Next, lower the front of the seat down and bolt them in.


Voila! Heavy stock seats installed. Did I mention the stock seats are heavy? They are (60 ish lbs), but as cool as the GT3 seats looked, the batwings hit me right in the shoulder blades and pushed my shoulders forward. Short drives were a blast, but 30 minute + drives in those things made me sore for a couple hours. I'm exactly 6ft tall/160lbs for reference.


Speaking of the GT3 seats, the same dude that bought my seats on ebay has them back on ebay right now for $5750.00 He's dropped his price from $6,500 a month ago down to where he's at now. He also wants $400 shipping. They are now his seats to do as he wishes of course, but his get rich quick by flipping my seats scheme doesn't seem to be working out yet.

6k for used gt3 euro seats!?! i'll NEVER find a set i would pay that money for. i may bite the bullet and end up w pole positions having all but given up on painted back arctic sports! so the recaro is gonna be the next best thing ( for me ).. i don't know what they're worth but they sure are fetching a whole lot of money! glws.

Arctic painted back sports? With crests? Umm, sorry they aren't for sale but I believe I have what you're looking for. Pretty sure my car is Arctic, a bright silver right? I'm surprised they're that rare honestly. I'd love GT3 but too rich for my poor blood and I don't think I could do fixed back.

 

you have arctic painted back sport seats? they are becoming rare also. i wouldn't care about crests.

 

Pretty sure the backs of the sport seats can be taken off and painted whatever color you want, it's just a hard plastic shell I believe.

 

..i think you're right! and there are even "hardshell" kits I've seen that are either pre painted L92 ( or whatever it is..? ) or you have them painted? but i have neither the skill or the nerve to "test" those options..and so the arctic sport seats remain a "wish" item.

I was going to sell for 2,200 for the whole set. Looks like they can be sold for more.

There are fakes out there for cheap, and I'm sure that has affected prices of the real ones. Pretty sure the 'realies' can bring $3-4K. Check eBay "completed sales."
