Another great review on Markskituning A+++
A few months back I had finally found an 03 996 turbo that I wanted to commit to. I live in Las Vegas and the vehicle was located in Chicago. I then did my research and called several place to possibly have the owner bring the car for a thorough inspection. I was very hesitant on which shop to bring it too. I realized that Markski was located about 30 minutes from where the owner of the vehicle lived. I proceeded to reach out to Markski in reference to my situation of not being able to bring the car there myself since I wasn't a local buyer and that I wanted a thorough inspection of the car because I planned on driving it back to Las Vegas the following week (1800miles). He agreed to fit me into his busy schedule in such short notice and was able to coordinate with the owner of the car with scheduling. Markski was very informative and responsive with the whole process, from start to finish. He had given me information I needed verified during the inspection as well as tighten any loose fitting, boost leaks etc. He went above and beyond and insured me that the car would be solid for the drive back. It was my first Porsche and he educated me and many things needed to look out for in these cars. He made sure to let me know that if anything should go wrong on my drive back that I could call him for any support needed. It was a great experience and a relief to have had him be the one to perform the inspection. He sent me videos, picture as well during the process and kept me up to date on everything. After the inspection I made the decision to go through with the sale and booked a flight out there the following week.
I picked up the vehicle and finalized the paperwork with the owner. I couldnt be on my way without trying to reach out to Markski once again while I was in Chicago to personally thank him. During the week before my flight I knew that I also needed to get my car retuned for 91 octane once I got back to Vegas. I made the decision that I would tell Markski that I'm wanted him to be the one to retune my car once I get back and settle. He offered me his remote tune flasher to hold onto and told me to just pay him when I get the tune. WOW! Definitely an awesome gesture. I guess he and I knew that with his fantastic commitment to service, support and product that there was no other tuner I'd go too. HELL he was right. He was the definition of the perfect product most enthusiast looked for! Okay well lets fast forward this to the retune......

Okay, now my previous tune was more than fine even with 93map just as long as I had lowered the boost. I did experience some rough idle on the rpm once I was in Vegas, could be the elevation or the 91 fuel but it was something that would irritate me sometimes. It wasnt major but I knew it was there. It was also a bit rougher off the line in first gear. So after several weeks I decided to shoot Markski a text and proceeded with the retune. I had also bought the durametric tool from him. (before I forget, he offered to lend me the tool if I didnt have one yet to be able to data log but decided to buy it instead for my own personal use). So he walked me through the entire process, software installation, datalogging, flash loading, adjusting boost levels etc. Once the new tune was on I noticed the car definitely drives much smoother, idle issue was also ironed out. He walked me through dialing in the boost via EBC for my 91map, race map. Once I dialed it in I decided to turn the boost up a bit to his maximum recommendation, Ladies and Gentlemen I ll end this post here........... It was violent to say the least.
Markski, thank you for the fantastic experience and support. I've been an enthusiast and apart of many forums and organizations for many years (e30s, miatas, lexus, 2 e36 m3s, e46 m3, autox, HPDE, shows) and have yet to come across a vendor like yourself. Cheers!

Good lookin car. I like the seats and harnesses, color, wheels.. ..... Seats a roll bar and harnesses are possibly my next upgrade. Researching seats now. I have a little issue with a roll bar and harness bar. I need to be able to fully recline my passenger seat so my surf board can still fit in the car. May require a custom build

Don't really like racks, can't lock up the boards. Also gets a little sketchy over 60-70 mph. Surfboards have allot of surface area and are not very aerodynamic when strapped to a rack. Lots of lift compared to skis or a bike. I worry about ripping it right off the roof.
Back on track with the OP. I was considering a tune also, markski is resting at the top of my list. Need to fit it into the budget though.

i guess things have changed in a few yrs. i called him to look at 2 turbos less than 10 minutes from him. completely blew me off so i drove 8 hrs to look at them. tried to pay him to look at them. i refuse to beg someone to take my money. i guess thats the start of why i wouldn't let him tune my lawnmower. just my experience

Just someone's useless .02.
I've no relation to Marksi's business, but have checked in with him as I started my buying search/adventure (as I saw he was local and dealt with these cars). Of course I'm then a potential client, but even with no guarantee of that occurring he was really quite responsive and helpful.
Likely not a great idea to 'get in the middle', but not everyone has the time to check out parts for others. I'd also find vetting turbos a tough one, there are aspects you can inspect but you just never know on a (used?) item. It would also be awkward if you are selling similar products and someone asks you to help them buy a used item elsewhere?

of course its no secret my opinion but i feel its relevant to the thread
If you read your post again and splitime's reply, I think splitime thought you literally meant "turbos." As in the parts, and not the shorthand for 911 turbo.
