997 Front-end conversion
997 Front-end conversion
Finally got my car back after the incident that my buddy had at Barber. Went with the 997 front clip. Came out pretty good I think. Of course the MAF went bad while in the body shop?!? Have got the dreaded PSM/ABS failure.

Amen, awesome body shop! How much of that fender gap was frame and how much was it the glass parts? Was the front end much work to install? Looks like the rest was the big issue, I'd be spreading that shop's name around for sure!
Wow. Heavy hit. Did they replace either frame rail/ frunk side or just pull everything straight?
Looks good! I just completed similar a couple of months ago (see my thread). Did you guys cut down the stiffening box-section at the top-back of the fender flange?
We clipped the back edge off the 996 fenders vertically to retain the full curve of the 997 wheel arches - though it prob does not make a difference other than in our minds lol. I also have full 997 sills as we did the full body conversion.
Looks like they did a nice job. And despite the fact that not everyone may be into it, IMO it def cleans up the 996 front end.

The cut line of the doors is completely different in 996 vs. 997. That is what necessitated using the rear portion of the 996 fenders. Only then do you realize that the radiuses of the wheel arches are different! It was more than we expected, but I like the results....Just hope I never need a replacement front wing!
The shop was Rich and his guys at Classic Design and Fabrication in Athens, Georgia. Highly recommend!
