if you are not tracking or doing hard v-max stop fairly commonly, just run the cheaper option. It's not being 'hack', it's just good financial sense, any name-brand option is overkill on street

Ya it will just be for this year's driving season. Next year I will switch to 2 piece rotors and have what I buy this year as backup.
With a total of 32 pistons in your braking system, you have DOUBLED the number the stock system has. And it's cheap to boot. Not sure on the rotor size, but with that many pistons, who cares!
Pretty happy. Made the brackets and put my new 350mm rotors in. Much better than the 330mm and should hold up from cracking better as well. Brackets and bolts cost me 20 bucks to make. Big brake kit on the cheap, check.
I picked up spacers and bolts from grio disc and went with "Adams" custom rotors 350mm all around drilled, slotted, and coated for under 500 shipped. I've had good luck with his rotors in other applications so I hope they hold up. The rotors should arrive in another week or two, they're all built to order. All told it cost $540 for 350mm rotors all around.
When they arrive I'll post pictures and impressions.

do you have a link to some information about these rotors you speak of?
Considering the arrogance they've shown John when he's attempted to point out design issues and multiple threads noting failures of their hardware you couldn't pay me to run racingbrake equipment. Johns races hard with his car and these guys blew him off stupidly. Their brake setup that has pads off the edge of the rotor blows my mind as does their "solution" of custom pads lol.
Larger rotors interest me and from reading this thread it seems feasible, when my current rotors are done I'll be considering it for sure!

My understanding is their iron rotor blanks come from a foundry in Taiwan. I'm not sure if it's the metallurgy quality, the engineering, or a combination of the two that is behind the well publicized failures of the Racing brake products but it's enough to make you notice. I'm not making this up and don't have an ax to grind with Racing Brake. A quick google search is all you need to peel a layer on this onion. Do a little research. This is serious business where one can easily get hurt. If you're tracking your car or driving it at or near it's limit, I'd stick with OEM/OEM supplier brake rotors or with legitimate companies like Brembo, Girodisc, or AP racing rotors, whose products are used and proven in legitimate road racing venues around the world. I have a shop full of countless brake rotors and other brake parts. I've had just about every manufacturer's rotor eventually crack from hours of heavy track use but none have catastrophically failed in a manner of the publicized RB failures. It's scary. Again, be safe out there guys....
