Hey everyone.

Just wondering if there is an exhaust option for our cars similar to what Porsche puts on a lot of the newer stuff where you can open and close valves to control how loud the exhaust is at any given point?

I want my car to sound nice but also want to stay on good terms with my 150 year old neighbors.

undercover builds a custom exhaust that has boost controlled cutouts that increase as the boost goes up. not cheap close to 5k$

 

Ought to be able to use waste gates on most any exhaust to do it :-)

Unobtanium's current exhaust isn't muffled although from inside the car you'd never know it. Outside however it's got some authority! They've built a muffled exhaust for John and are building him another but if noise is the issue I'd want to make VERY sure that the muffling they're doing will knock it down enough. I'm sure they could do something custom as they certainly have jigs to position everything, worth calling them - my experience is they're EXTREMELY up front about what they can and can't do and can help you decide. Markski builds his stuff from scratch and is up in Chicago so he might also be able to figure something out. Not priced what Undercover builds or seen it but I think they're one of the only one's I've heard of building them that way. It SEEMS like a muffled system and some wastegates to release backpressure on boost would work well rather than using flaps - might sound like *** though
