Budman,

In all due respect to you as an individual, I am no longer interested in what PES/EVO does or doesn't make power and torque wise. Not interested in their lack of sharing information and I do not wish to discuess their Stage V product now or in the future. I just don't subscribe to their Top Secret mentality. Have fun at the shootout.

Chad,

That is certainly understandable. I know many people are interested in what the Stage 5 will end up being. And I suppose as the Stage 5 has still been a work in progress is the reason they don't want to share too much information. After the shootout I will be posting any information that anyone would like to know about Stage 5.

I have no problems sharing info, just want it to be the right info.

I am a bit confused here. PES and EVOms both worked together on this top secret stage 5 or is it something else? The longer you keep us waiting buddy the more you will get bugged till you squeeze out more info

Zeo,

There really is not anything particularily new about 700 hp for a 996tt. Maximum hp can be very decieving. It's like where is the beef. I look at average hp/torque along with the maximum. The 700 hp news is about a year old. Gemballa, Autothority, TTP, Manthey and S Car Go Racing (I'm sure I forgot someone) have all been there and done that. You would think with all this secrecy someone was inventing a new wheel.

Zeo,

PES/EVO/Imagine Auto are all GIAC affiliates that are authorized to sell the Stage 5 upgrade. All the info I have will come out at the shootout and then be revealed to everyone on six speed.

Chad has a bad taste in his mouth with GIAC so take that for what it is worth.

I still love you Chad!!

Budman,

Not sure if the real problem was GIAC.

In due time I'll get to meet a Stage V.

agreed

I just cant wait to see whats next for these cars whether its a more efficient way of gaining power or just a totally different turbo being used. I havent been following very much with the whole stage 5 secrecy but I am sure if its worth keeping a secret then its got to be something interesting. You never know....it may just be 750'whp' in the end.

buddy, look forward to meeting you and your car.

Maybe I'm missing something, but Stage 5 is a derivative of my setup. The difference is that the PES/EVO version bolts up to the factory oil lines, exhaust flanges, etc. It requires far less custom fabrication than my car did. On the other hand, because we did so much custom work, we were able to rework a few things here and there which makes my car breathe easier.

My car has had the Garrett T04 ball bearing turbos for over 2 years now... Wilber and Protomotive were the first to run these on a 996 as far as we know.

So really, there is no secret to Stage 5. GIAC is still tweaking theirs, while on day one, at 1.0 bar we were running over 550whp. For over a year, at 1.2 bar we were running about 615whp.

I am glad that PES and EVO figured out how to use the Garretts on the 996. I am sure my car had some influence over their development one way or the other, allowing people like Buddy to have a similar setup to mine in a true bolt on package without the need for major fabrication. I've spoken to EVO and PES about this subject, and basically the setups are similar to mine with a few proprietary touches.

The only difference is the PES/EVO systems are perhaps more 'refined,' mine is raw and loud... how that translates to actual performance we will see soon enough.

Yeah Sharky... got sorted last night.

Thanks for the help and advice. And yet another reason why 18's rule!!!

I offered to pay air freight, so they should be coming tomorrow.

Apparently, someone else chose this option too... was that you?

Cool I was not aware of that. There is nothing secret I guess Chad just wants to know Dyno numbers and PES asked me to wait until the shootout. Besides who cares about numbers I just want real street performance. I may get my butt kicked but I know I will love my car when I finally get it!

It has been almost 2 months since I lost saw the RED BEAST!

Heheh yes I'm so glad they came through. Doug was a great guy to talk to and VERY keen to support this event the whole way through.
