Do you guys run oem tire sizes? If not, that could trigger the PSM and damage your 4wd.

I've done a bunch of mountain roads so far (first track day coming up)....and have only had it kick in once or twice.

I'm talking slow speeds here, 5mph and less is when it happens.

it would/should. but unless i'm missing the detractors ( i am one ) point?

it's that at low speed or on gravel sections of road or.... whatever..

unless there is *some* measure of "extreme" driving occurring, abs/psm any combo should NOT be kicking in if all tires sizes and all else are within factory spec etc.

broken parts as a contributing factor shouldn't/doesn't count for the sake of the original query/argument as that is a no brainer that SOMEthing is going to get "triggered" whether a cel/abs/psm xmas lights, something unusual will be your clue.

but not a section of reasonably undertaken/driven gravel roadway lol

ABS hardly ever, even at the track.

PSM used to come on a lot on mountain roads and tracking, the rear would get kind of twitchy. That got resolved by a different alignment and resetting the steering angle sensor.

^ exactly, supporting my point and theoretical that something is out of whack. the system merely responds to the parameters the dme is set with. change those with wheels/improper alignments etc etc.. and the dme reacts accordingly.
