PSI Business Status
PSI Business Status
In response to the claims that PSI was out of business, I forwarded an e-mail to PSI Europe and asked the question. Knowing what I do about their racing program (new investor and some new cars for next year) I suspected that the new investor wanted a clean slate and not to invest into the old company. This is PSI's response, I received it this morning:

Dear Mr. Olivier,
Thank you very much for approaching us with this question. It is good to hear from you that this kind of discussion is going on there, so that we can tell the real situation to everyone interested. We have an importer, Orton Performance, who should be able to clear this situation to anyone asking it. We are not actively following the chatboards in the States and in any case, we are not happy when these kinds of rumours are going around, whoever have started them.
End of last summer we did indeed a big change to our company structure and that must be the reason why these rumours are out there. I will try to explain to you how the situation was and how it is now.
Previously:
PSI Motorsport: race department, Porsche tuning, part of diesel tuning (couple of local markets + development) and PSI Experience driving incentives
PSI Luxembourg (known as PSI): rest of diesel tuning (all the other countries + stock + office)
PSI Motorsport as company was stopped in August 2005 to reach the following new structure:
PSI Experience: racing department, driving incentives, development work for Porsche and diesel tuning. We will continue our Porsche program with, of course, our own GT2-R biturbo, but there is a new partner behind us and we have purchased two Corvettes, including the Le Mans 24h and ALMS title winning C6-R. The program is yet to be cleared, but we will do at least 3 major European championships, at least one of them with Porsche.
PSI Luxembourg (known as PSI): Porsche tuning and all diesel tuning markets
We are not in any way out of the business. We will have the strongest race program ever in 2006 and we are also working hard to get the PSI Porsche tuning working in the US. The diesel is going well as always.
Could you give me a hint where I should go or who I should contact with an official PSI statement to stop all these discussions on the chatboards? Currently, they might have an effect on our business and that is not acceptable.
Thank you again.
Best regards,
Markus Palttala

Roy,
Thanks for the update. I spoke with Neil last week, and it's business as usual.
As far as the product, I couldn't be happier with my choice, and I know this is the same for many others...

One of the posters in the infamous PSI dyno post said they were out of business. Implying there may not be any support for the PSI tuning platform. This may not have been his intertion but it came across that way. The post was getting very heated anyway. I also have the PSI 480 kit and could not be happier. I am also considering the PSI 520 kit but I am still rolling pennies and have not gotten there yet. If my buddies new c6 z06 wastes me too bad I may have to dip into the Christmas budget and make it happen early. I think the 520 plus exhaust would hang with the vet OK. My car is not very slow now and being a tip it is very easy to launch and does ok from a roll also. It will be fun to see and I will post the outcome good or bad if we get a chance to line them up. And yes we will get that chance.
By the way here's a pic of Markus Palttala driving the second car, the car with a red hood is driven by F1 champion Mika Häkkinen.

When both were driving those GT3 Cups in 2004, Häkkinen won the first start and Palttala won the other. All the others were far behind...
Some other pics:

He's both a race driver and marketing manager (majored in business) in PSI-motorsport. That's cool for a guy who is still in his twenties isn't it?

I think this is good news. Of course I was not interested in if PSI was in business or not nor their financial status. So I did not indulge in that conversation. I think it is noble that they responded and have let the public know they are well and good. I wish them good luck in their endeavors in up coming year

Go for the upgrade!! Come on, you (and Rolo) can afford it! You guys have access to everybody elses money!
But first you got to learn how to drive!
Next time you are here to visit Neal, call me I live about 7 miles from Orton Performance.
Come on, we have to spice up this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am VERY unhappy with the service at Orton Performance!
I took my car to Neil for Oil/filter and Spark plugs. He gave me the best price in town and had my car ready the same day!
But, on the way home I got smoked by a Geo Metro! I have to get to a Dyno and see what happened to my HP!
