996tt suspension question

I recently purchased a 2001 twin turbo and want to upgrade the suspension.
I purchased a set of Ohlins R&T coil overs , Eibach adjustable sway bars, Tarret drop links, solid LCA bushings and adjustable toe links for the rear.
My goal is to improve street performance on twisty roads and very occasional DE use.
I purchased all the nuts, washers, spacers etc to assemble the coil overs prior to installation form Prosche.
My questions are:
What is the signifance of the different hieght spacers listed in the factory parts manual that are located on top of the springs (IIFC they are 3 and 6.5mm for the front and .5 and 2 mm for the rear)?
Is there any way to to tell which are installed on the vehicle other than by visual inspection?

Sounds like the spacers are used to setup the spring compression to adjust the ride height. You can probably use either spacer - The larger spacer should give you slightly higher ride height due to compressing the spring more.
