Time to say Hello
Time to say Hello
Hi Folks. I am a Gator and I am a Bob but I try not to be obnoxious about either.
I've been lurking a while waiting on permissions. It's nice to have two-way participation. I am a long time Turbo AWD driver with the bulk of my experience in a VR-4. Like Ruiner, when it was totalled by a dump truck, the obvious replacement was another Turbo AWD. Found a nice certified Seal Grey 2002 with 9K miles at Brumos and have had both corners of my mouth stuck in my ears ever since.
Lookin forward to a track day with Hurley Heywood in February and as with the VR-4, I intend to spend a bit of time on the tracks here in the southeast.
The mods I'll work through will first address handling. Glad to be here.

It's great to see you here, Bob! Registration approval usually takes a while, but from here on out it is smooth sailing.
Congrats on the car. There is a great group of guys here and you will find the board to be of great help w/o the instances of trolls to ruin the fun (thank goodness).
We'll have to get together, that's for sure.

Here's a pic -
Bone Stock 2002
Well - I did get a short shift installed prior to delivery
And the front tag is gone now.

Welcome Bob! That smile will last a long, long time.
My car originally came from Brumos and has a sticker on the windshield saying it was tested and approved by Hurley Haywood. I don't know anything about him. Clue me in!

This guy is the real deal.
"Haywood is a five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona, three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and two-time winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring, and also has a Trans Am Championship and 14 Indianapolis 500 starts."
I found that from an article dated 8/2000. (http://www.motorsport.com/magazine/f...l&D=2000-08-15)
Now I know what I want for Christmas...a book about him!
