Good luck and glad everyone is ok!

What's up Al?

I just had full coverage but no agreed value so this will be interesting to see what they pay out.

I appreciate everyone's kind words. The insurance company took it out the tow yard and are having some engineer look at it. If I had to guess it's probably going to be a fuel line failure. The reason I say that is because I had the original fuel lines and also because the fire spread to the front of the car very rapidly.

Here are some pictures of the aftermath. After viewing the car today I had chills. Remembering how fast that fire spread I know I could have been a permanent part of this wreckage. I'm just counting my blessings.

Probably from explosion or buckling under extreme heat.
007, hope you get a reasonable payout.

Wow that is interesting. I will definitely forward that on to the investigator to check out if there is anything to even remaining.

By the way the front of my car looks like that because the fire department was hitting to open the hood. The fire kept starting back in the front hood. They finally brought a second truck that had some kind of white foam to put it out.

condolences and agree you're lucky to have escaped without harm. those are the most shocking pics of our cars I've ever seen. here's to hoping your payout is fair. scary stuff, and yeah.. fuel for sure. my 914/6 did this decades ago.

Wow! Can you add agreed value after the fact for those that still are under existing policy?

Sorry to see you lose your car, but very glad you are OK! The aftermath pictures are hard to look at! Hope your insurance company treats you well. On a positive note, the general trend on asking price for our cars has been trending upwards recently.

Good Luck!
