Question about Porsche battery charger

I have a Porsche OEM battery charger (think it's actually made by Ctek) that I plug into my cigarette lighter after every drive. I've used it for the last few years with no problems at all. Last week, I plugged it in and then went to move it after a few hours - it was completely turned off and burning hot to the touch. I immediately unplugged it from the car and the outlet. Later on I plugged it back into the outlet and it came back on, but quickly got very hot again.

Any ideas? Is it toast? Today I plugged it into the outlet and before it even got hot it lost all power and had no lights on.

Check the fuse for the cigarette lighter and see if it's still good. My guess is that it's broken.

If it is still good, then your charger is probably shot.
