When you pull the subframe bushings, prepare for a fight. I ended up having to build a puller for the bushing with pipe, coupler nuts and allthread. What a pain in the ****!

So i got the transmission separated and found the cause of my slipping clutch. It appears as though my pressure plate diaphragm was cracked. Also, found that my slave was leaking quite badly which explains the horrible engagement. Thankfully will be ditching this stock slave piece of garbage for a manual setup. I also pushed out the transmission mount bushings, media blasted and pushed in the torque solution inserts.

While removing the stock diff I was alarmed to find that the driver's side LSD carrier bearings were shot. Like extremely worn. To the point that I suspect the precious owner may have taken a pretty severe curb hit on the passenger side forcing the driveshaft into the transmission stub axles. No clue how else this kind of wear could happen. The good news is the ring and pinion look great. No signs of any damage. Same for the diff cover.

Also, drilled and tapped the bell housing for the manual slave. Super easy! Glad I am not going the adapter bracket route.

Very nice. Looking forward to seeing it come together - and your impressions of the Cup suspension. But... Diiiuuuude! You need to spend some quality time with your garage and do some serious cleaning up! Looks a bit like the Sanford & Son set.

Not my garage. It is a friend who is letting me use his lift. His garage is filled on one side with a 1969 911 project and it's parts. The back end is the machine shop and CNC that he recently acquired. His plan is the lift will be moved to a larger shop elsewhere and the machine shop will be entirely this location.

Another thing to note, the cup rear dogbones are quite beefy compared to the rubber bushed factory turbo ones. The metal arms are probably 1/4" wider.
