Hey everyone
Last night casual driving, with the occasional punch.
Got the CEL and got it read the next day it came back

ERROR CODE: P1130 O2S Range 2 Cyl. 4-6

Looked like I was getting horrible gas mileage also..
Started the car today and it died, did it again and it was surging a little till i gave it some gas, then it idled out fine.

01, 996 TT tip...

Anyone know possible solutions?

P1130 - (361) Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 2 - Below Limit.

Or from my source it could be "Above Limit".

I will cover the Below Limit first.

Possible fault causes:
- Incorrect signal from MAF
- Fuel pressure too high
- Fuel injector leaking
- EVAP canister purge valve open

If a P0445 (fuel tank vent valve -- short to ground) is stored (or I would add pending) correct this fault first. An open EVAPO canister purge valve can lead to the lean threshold [sic] being reached.

If the error is due to Below Limit:

Possible fault causes:
- Incorrect signal from MAF
- Intake air system leaking
- Fuel pressure too low
- Volume supply of fuel pump too low
- Fuel injector fouled.

If the tank reserve light is on the error code won't be stored.

Air leaks ahead of the oxygen sensors can cause an adaptation fault.

Because of horrible gas mileage I like a fuel injector fouled. What this means is one cylinder runs lean but the DME will increase fuel to that bank and the other cylinders run rich. So you have one lean cylinder and two rich ones.

Can you view the short (and long) term fuel trims? Be aware if you clear the error you reset the long term fuel trims to their defaults and the DME will manifest rather active short term fuel trims as it goes about relearning fuel trims.

If you want, send me a private email with your email address that can accept a PDF document and I'll put a few applicable pages from my reference into a PDF file and email it to you.
