2001 turbo mods

i know some one who is getting some modifications for his turbo for starters he is getting the evo air intake system and the diverter valves

the 996tt is a tiptronic

how much does it benefit
and well it be noticabley faster?

i mentioned to him
headers
ecu
muffler
bypass pipes

but are the air intake and diverter valves good for starters?

thank you in advance

I'm thinking an aftermarket air intake for a dusty or sandy climate is not a smart thing. No, I don't think you could feel any increase from those mods. ECU upgrade should be first, followed by diverter valves and exhaust.

suspension first, ecu, dv, exhaust, air filter. Ecu is biggest bang for buck no doubt. Do it!

B&B exhausts don't seem to be well regarded. Go with the Fabspeed if not one of the other choices like Cargraphic, FVD, RUF, Europipe..etc.

I don't understand, the GTs ARE bypass pipes. Why order two of the same thing. B&B makes a standard exhaust called LeMans. They really aren't well regarded. Take a look at Remus......they are also under $2k.

I have the Evo exhaust with no cats, sounds quiet from inside but SCREAMS on the outside, its insane.. My question is, is it worth also doing bypass pipes and how much louder can it possibly get from having no cats as hell, sorry for threadjack.

BTW suspension is a must first i agree, 2nd ecu, diverter's and filter or evo intake, perfect setup

Headers i doubt are necessary unless you swap turbos, cant hurt though! Im pretty sure Evolution Motorsports sells their own Strut and sways as well, check out the site

Not at all.. The strut goes in the front trunk compartment, sways are under the car.. Sways will be 75% more noticeable than a strutbar IMO and from my experience !
