Got my GT700 back from EVOMS today

All I can say is OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!

This is by far the fastest car I have ever driven on the street. This thing hits so hard so quick. The lag from the Stage 4 is gone. This car is constantly trying to break all 4 wheels lose. The sensation of sudden acceleration is like none I've felt before. You have to be careful, if you try to open it up, you're at 100mph so quick it's scary.

My dad and I decided to have a little afternoon fun after I picked it up. My dad drove the CGT and I was in my GT700, the CGT got a slight jump on me from 20 to 50, but after 50, I passed him and kept walking away up to about 130, where I pulled out of it. I was about 7 car lengths ahaed at this point.

The car's everyday driveabilty has remained the same as a stock 996TT, except for the new Sachs clutch, which took me about 30 minutes to get used to. The clutch feel is exactly the same (still hydraulically assisted), the release point is just a little further out now.

The final dyno numbers ended very even. 640hp and 640 lb/ft. With the loss factor that EVOMS uses of 12.5% (a number which I still think seems low) the car is making 720 / 720 at the flywheel.

I'm taking it to the dragstrip on Sunday, I have no doubt that it will trap in the mid to high 130's. I'm hoping for a 10second pass, but there are many factors that contribute to that, so we shall see.

I've attached my dyno chart.

Sweet #'s. How much boost and what octane gas was used to produce the 640 at the tires? and also if you happen to know the compressor wheel size and a/r.

Thanks

The standard 996 friction calculation is 16%. Audi's run at 26% for AWD vs. 16% for FWD. I would assume that a TT would be at least 24%.

That means your power numbers are AWESOME. Congrats.

Thanks for reporting. It's nice to know with your impressive list of cars this old horse can still hold it's own.

plus one on the drivetrain loss comment. it's got to be at least 20 percent for the all wheel drive system.

nice gains though. what is DIN HP? i've seen SAE and uncorrected, but never DIN. I know it is a selection on the dynojet software, but I have never seen anyone use it. how does it compare to the other two?

one other question...
this is the first dyno i've seen a dyno chart on this package. i'm assuming that the top line is the HP...why does it drop off so sharply after 4.5ish K rpm's ?

I knew you would love it! It is amazing to break loose all four tires in second and third gear!

This may be the ultimate upgrade kit. You can make more power with the GT750 and GT800 but you end up with big lag. The GT700 spools as quick or quicker as the stock tt but still makes great power.

By the way the dyno numbers are rwhp and 15 % loss is generally accepted as accurate. Someone once said that you actually take the number and divide by .85 to get the flywheel number. That would mean you are closer to 753 at the crank!

sure you can claim 15% loss on TT, as long as you don't reconnect the driveshaft before you leave the dyno that math equation someone told you about is just a simple way to come up with a 15% drivetrain loss.

buddyg, why does the HP dip like that on these kits? is it a side effect of the turbos?

Reconnecting the driveshaft does nothing to the flywheel horsepower number, which is what we're trying to figure out.

The power loss correction factor (15% in this case) is what's used to calculate the flywheel power when just the rear wheels are receiving the power, and dividing the wheel number by .85 is the only way I know of doing the math correctly.
