i have that and a cpl other fittings/connectors that came in the ziplock bag with the ipd, and those we did NOT install after hammering that sucker in 
should i be concerned?
for my money, the ipd plenum is a great piece, and it works without the few extra included mystery parts

I've read many have cured high idles by replacing the MAF. If you've exhausted all the vacuum plumbing then that would probably be a good place to look if not MAFless.
