I have to agree!
If I remember correctly, it has been said the vendor had the item listed as in stock right?
That would be on the vendor. Not on the manufacturer.
If it said "minimum 8-12 weeks(what ever amount of time)" in the listing, then I'd say the vendor has a leg to stand on but if you say "in stock", customer purchases, pays for it and it's taking for ever, then that is not acceptable.
Blast away on the vendor. It will be a warning for others who might find themselves in a similar situation if they deal with that vendor! Vendor should make it up to the customer. A sincere apppology would be a good start!!

While not directly related, I've noticed this sickening trend or tactic, whatever you want to call it, where vendors offer things up for sale that are "in stock", and as soon as you pay for them, BOOM, they are backordered. Once they get your money, then they manufacture it, or buy it from the manufacturer, but they say it is "in stock" so you'll pay for it and hope for the best...
lots of eBay vendors doing stuff like this ( 3rd party intercession ). only to find the actual supplier would be a vendor one would know, or even have dealt with directly in the past.
better to use paypal with unknown vendors which offers a degree of recourse should a non fulfillment issue arise. and still "we" have some advantage still being in the ConUs. it's easier to bring a vendor to task here. as opposed to int'l orders and fulfillment.
a guy in the US ordering from misha, wouldn't have had this problem. if ordering a new part, that is not from a private seller? know your seller.
