Random PSM/ABS Failures, then P1109
After getting my engine dropped to pin lines i've had a bunch of issues popping up. The voltage regulator went on the alternator, then last week the MAF went. Replaced with a new Bosch unit and all was fine. The dealer fixed a few boost leaks with a smoke test after replacing the voltage regulator (car was only making .6bar rather than the normal .9bar) and the car was running perfect and actually making a bit more boost @ 1bar. About 300 miles on the new MAF.
Today on a drive I had an ABS/PSM failure and no CEL. Idle was fine. Shut off the car, restart and everything fine. 20 miles later same ABS/PSM failure. Still no CEL. Shut it off, restart and no lights and drives fine. Car still making full boost, driving perfect, idle perfect.
Then the third time I get ABS/PSM failure along with the P1109. Seems like the P1109 is almost always a boost leak so I guess i'll start looking but after searching it seems that some people have reported a steering sensor causing the ABS/PSM?
Would the ABS/PSM be a boost leak if no CEL is triggered?
Car is a stock k16 car with a Cobb Tune and exhaust.

I'd get the dreaded ABS/PSM failure warning frequently after removing my front diff, axles and cardin shaft. I fiddled with my ride height adjusting my KWV1 coilovers all over the place and I must say my handling deteriorated as well. I couldn't get that sweet spot where the car felt planted. My Subie Crosstrek felt like it handled better in the canyons and could take the turns faster.
I had notes after installing the coilovers with my OE AWD and tried to duplicate those settings with the FWD components removed. It didn't work. I also fit new tires, this time going to a 245 F width instead of the 225 and a better match with the rear in revs per mile. Still poor handling. I finally went to my alignment guy, told him my tires were squealing horribly in turns and the handling was poor. I gave him GT2 specs to start with and let him go with it. $68 and an hour later, the car's transformed. It's a screamer in the canyons, like after I installed the coilovers and lowered it with his alignment. No more ABS/PSM failure warnings either. The car's fun to drive again.

I had this issue occurring randomly on my wife's 996 ABS RSM light coming on, shut off car and restart, fault cleared then coming back when driving. it was a brake light switch failing. Replaced the brake light switch and problem solved.
