I continued my investigations, and I put to rest a sample of my oil in a transparent bottle and ......

The result shows no trace of water, it is not scientific, but nevertheless ....

Another thing is that a mechanic who works at the CP Porsche in my region spent yesterday in my office and I took advantage of his presence to show him my oil, and it did not strike him, because the Mobil One 5W50 they Put actually becomes somewhat dark caramel / brown after use ......

I still want to have my oil analyzed by a laboratory, to be sure.

I will also measure the quantity of oil that I collected, per consciousness. I put some oil in my engine, history to make it turn and I will drain again in the next few days. I put 7.4 liters, with change of filter, and I am 1 bar below the maximum (ie 2 bars from the top to the screen).

So next step, I will inspect my radiators closely, although I never had any trace of water on the ground ...... you never know, but I cross my fingers.

Take it in for a leak down test. Then you can rule out a head gasket problem and sleep better.

That oil does not look like intermix oil. Oil analysis would tell you for sure. Analysis would ne the 100% sure test for intermix. Leak down and compression tests are not 100% accurate for a leaking head gasket. If you have not removed your bumper and inspected your radiators, that is the next step. My radiators were weeping for a year with no drips. Coolant would go from max to min marks in about a month and 1K miles.

I inspected my radiators, and found no trace or leak. I put the cooling system under pressure, up to 1 bar, and nothing.

I changed my expansion vessel myself in September 2016 to 168'000 km, and I put back the coolant level. During the winter, I did not have an alarm, but I also did not control my level. Until now, I have driven about 10'000 km, and it is since it is very hot that I have the level of coolant falling. I handed in perhaps 5 or 6 liters.

Good news: the compressions are good in all 6 cylinder

Bad news: head gasket ......

We can open the engine now....

Wow thats not so common. I would use the 997 TT gasket so you can get more boost out of the engine. Well probably only worth it with new rods.

Precisely, I am thinking about what I can improve, since the engine will be down ....

What is the difference between a 997TT cylinder head gasket versus the 996TT head gasket?

I have to change something else if I put a 997TT head gasket?

Maybe i was not precise enough. With the 997TT gasket the compression is reduced, means you can get more boost into the cylinders. I am not sure but thats necessary if you want to run more than 1,6 bar of boost.

It's probably the same gasket. The 997 tt pistons have a bit lower compression. I am running 997 pistons. You really should do studs and rods if you are in there.

Well, before I get off the engine, I want to control my heatl exchanger, the more I see I have difficulty removing the last sight, which is against the oil tank .... you have a solution?

We had a good time to dismantle, it's galley, but we got there.

We see that the right side is clean, but the left not!

Now, test the oil cooler.

The heat exchanger (oil cooler) has been pressurized, and nothing happens cold, while on heating, air bubbles appear on the left side (as in the picture above).

We're going to change the exchanger, and all go up and retest, I cross my fingers ....

Yep this is a total teardown. Mic the crank journals and go from there. What turbos are you running?
