A little info about the SL600
A little info about the SL600
I have seen several posts in the forum about 911 vs Mercedes SL. I have both. I wanted to give the 996TT guys a little insight on the SL. I have an SL600 RENNTech with 675hp and 910lb/ft, both at the flywheel...
Decided to play hookey today and run out to the track for a little test and tune. After making a few runs and playing with the tire pressures I ripped off this run (my all time best in the SL):

Here are the Atmospheric conditions and corrected times:

I have RENNTech ECU, Trans module and I'm running 17" 275 Mickey Thompson ET/Drag radials on stock SL500 wheels.

thats a very impressive time...how are u hooking so well? et streets? et drags? drag radials???
Your 1/4 trap is very impressive compared to the 1/8 trap...picking up 29mph is no joke...the car must be a monster on the highway.
When is the CGT going to the dragstrip? I'd like to see some 10's @ over 130 (uncorrected)...think it's possible?

Do you have exhaust and the Renntech air box. If not, try them they make a difference. I had them on my CL 600 with the ECU and Trans mods and I was running 11.7's in cali on 275 PS2's
Nice run!
