315/25/19 Continental Sportcontact 6 apparently available in UK, attempting to import

I've been looking around the web for 315/25's since I don't want to mismatch my AWD coupler with 305/30's and I don't want to run the poor performing Toyo T1 or the Nitto Invo. I found that they sell these in the UK in the Sportcontact 6 and I am trying to get a set. I sent off a few emails so we'll see what I can do. They have the matching 235/35/19 as well. I read some reviews on them and they are comparable to the Michelin PSS so they should be good tires.

DOT certification is a potential problem. These are OEM on the Audi R8, though not in our sizes. Have not heard back from anyone yet but I'll keep emailing before I try phone calls.

Awesome. Do the sidewalls feel pretty stiff under cornering? Or do they sway around a bit like a comfort tire? Do they have a DOT marking on them? In the US the DOT aka department of transportation has their test to make them legal here and they put their label on them with some load rating numbers I think. It should say DOT on it somewhere, it usualy looks like this:

It is possible that they got them tested and molded in the label and have not imported them for some reason. I know the R8 and I think the Cayman use these tires, so there are some available here but not in the sizes I need. Thanks for any help!

Where did you hear that from? It likely is this tire if so. It is the latest and greatest.

Yah that looks like the tire, with maybe a few updates. I emailed them to see about 315's.

Looks like no 315 in the North American version. Back to trying to import.

If anyone else wants a set make sure you post up here, sort of like a petition. I'll send this thread around and maybe we can get something done.

Update: I think that the US version of the 235/35/19 is just about the same tire with some minor tread updates, so I won't worry about that one as I can get it next month. So now just trying to import the 315/25/19. I have a lead that may work, giving this a try. This company is like the Tirerack of Europe. If we can just confirm that the tires have a DOT rating I don't think there will be any problems. Here is their response to my email:
Dear Mr Teunissen,

Thank you for your email.

We offer tyres by express delivery to over 200 countries worldwide. If we at Delticom AG do not operate an internet shop in your country, we would be glad to quote a tyre price that includes express delivery to your door in the country in question. Shipments are forwarded by air freight and normally take only few days to arrive. Please note that our offer for declarable consignments exclude import taxes and customs duties (DDU price). However, we are also ready to assume all import taxes and duties, which we will have to invoice to you.

In order to receive our price quote, please send us a message by e-mail to international.delivery@delti.com that includes the following information: Your name, email and telephone. Business customers should also provide company name, form and tax number. Invoice and delivery address. Number and description of tyres of interest. It is enough to write the tyre size and not the full tyre nomenclature.

If our price offer is to your satisfaction we will send you our order confirmation with all details. Payment has to be effected in advance by wire transfer. Please note that orders are processed only after receipt of payment. Tyres that have been sold and shipped cannot be returned, all sales by international express delivery are final.

If you have further questions, please let us know.

We wish you health, luck and success in the New Year

With regards,

Mr. Sebastian Lup

I replied to this email with my information so we will see tomorrow.

Here's a pic I found of a SC6 tire that is not currently sold in the US, it has a DOT marking at the top so I think it is probable that the 315/19 does as well and this is should be legal.
