Will a Stage IV EVO Turbo S be quicker than a C6 Z06?

Same car, but the "S" version has a higher hp package (slightly bigger turbos, more boost, bigger intercoolers, etc).

You will see two badges. "Turbo" and "Turbo S". They are both 996TTs, though. Also, there used to be an "X50" package that you could order from the factory for the normal "Turbo". It would basically give you the same performance as the "Turbo S".

Yes, those as well. However, you can order PCCB for the normal "Turbo", so that makes telling them apart even more difficult unless you see the "Turbo S" on the back. The X50 adds a whole new level of confusion in terms of just "looking" at the car...

Martin,
I am serious about the 997TT compressor wheel. It 's the first of it's kind. I have one in my 993tt right now. You will need ECU program to go with it though and GIAC is not it.

All 2005 Turbos, whether cab or coupe were "S" models and it's reflected on the rear as Turbo S. While a 2004 could be similarly equipped with X-50, ceramic, etc. the cost of such was actually more than the base of a Turbo S. It was Porsche's justification of them all being "S" in 2005 was that you were getting "value" for the money. I'm sure it made all the 2004's who optioned up feel real good about themselves. When will manufacturers stop screwing the previous owners also like the C5 Z06 HP boost or the E39 M5 angel eye/LED lights or 911 Turbo warts/no Bose/no hollows.

I tend to give the edge to the stage4...when my car was a stage4 my best run was 11.60 @ 125...I have yet to see a C6Z run that fast. On a side note..I finally got a chance to run with a C6Z today in my 996, we were coming onto the freeway on ramp, I wasn't sure he was going to race (most guys in the C6Z's don't), so he got a slight jump on me, I caught him and passed him half way through 2nd gear, when I looked at the speedo, I was going 140 and he was about 8 car lengths behind me and falling back fast, I hit the brakes and he came flying be me, probably at over 150mph.
