New 996tt owner! A few questions too!

Hello, 6 speed!

For some reason my previous thread was deleted? I don't know why.

I'll be brief. Just purchased a 2002 996tt. Fast, beautiful, love it!

Question:
3rd 4th and so on will slip the clutch from 3k-4k then it will catch again.
Transmission is new! GT2 slave conversion, sachs 2.5 with LWFW. All with about 2k miles on them. No leaks. Pressure plate part #99611602751.

k16 billets, 72lb injectors, EPL tune. Makes 500AWHP on a mustang and 570AWTQ. Right now I see about 1.3-1.4 bar holding strong.

Is that pressure plate rated for 700+tq? I don't want to burn up the flywheel or new clutch. Everything catches STRONG when shifting hard through the gears ABOVE 4k rpm. Dynograph shows peak torque at 4.1k which is why I'm thinking it's the wrong clutch set up and only slips that little bit then catches.

MODS: if my previous post shows up for some reason, delete this one.

Thanks.

I think this is the pressure plate you wanted...

Also, you may want to check in with your tuner... my understanding is that 1.3-1.4bar is danger zone for bending rods unless you are on race gas or built motor... My car is built very similar

ps - new owner... pics are required

I thought the previous owner must have used the incorrect pressure plate. Sh*t. Well, I left Tony at EPL a message on Friday for a re-tune. This setup should be great for around 650ftlbs from my research. I'm thinking about a much more progressive tune that will ramp up the boost instead of everything at 3-4k RPM. Tony at EPL is who originally tuned the car on this set up so I know he will take care of me!

Thanks man!

Yeah I really love it. 41k miles perfect condition. Right now the car is very driveable, I started reading through the receipts and realized that the 751 (754) pressure plate was installed. It was cold yesterday and that is when I had a clutch slip. The car is really strong, but I am going to turn it down in the mid range. It needs to be much more progressive.

I wouldn't say this thread is "solved" but I think I know what the issue is now since the 999 pressure plate was not installed.

Any other thoughts from readers?
