Sounds like he doesn't want to take the time and effort to do it!

As said, a lot of time is in prep work, If I remember correctly the side skirts are pretty solid but the front lip is more flexible.

Yip! you can just see how much lower it looks to the ground, especially with a coloured TT, it's a must!

Mine are painted too and I have never had a problem. Looks really nice. I have some pics but do not know how to add them. Send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll forward some side shots.

I am going to do the same thing this spring. I have the Aero kit front which is already painted so I am going to finish it up with the sides and rear. It makes an amazing visual difference. I had heard of something called "chip guard" that can be mixed into the paint to protect from chipping. I don't know if this is a fallacy or not but I will look into it when I am going to get it done.
Keep us posted on what you find out................

Thanks guys..And thanks Red Devil. Sweet photos!!That is totally my car (when its lowered, painted and wing upgraded!)

I wouldn't think the cost would be excessive. I'll let you know what I find out in Washington state.

painting the skirts, the lip, the bumperette, and the rear rocker panels is one of the first things i did to the car

no issues with chipping at all.

the front lip though, gets chewed up all the time from the driveways and i replaced it, rpainted, twice.

Doc,

I was quoted $300 to paint the sideskirts and $125 for the front lip. Alex (MaxRPM) knows the guy. He did my front lip and the wing and did a good job. There wasn't time to do the side shkirts or I would have had him do that too. I will have the side skirts done within the next couple months. I told ya, Alex is my one stop shop.

I've never heard of chip guard but I know that any of these plastic pieces need a certain amount of flexible additive into the paint. I'd only use a shop that has alot of experience with painting parts other than metal. Good luck!

I agree with Ron & Steve regarding the 3m film. Instead of waiting 30 days. You might have to wait until July to put the film on (when the rain stops ). I also live in the northwest.
