2003 X50 modifications

I have a bone stock 2003 X50. It has 6500 miles. The car is putting out approx .6/.7 bar. I am considering puting on a Fabspeed Exhuast and re-flashing the ECU. Has anyone done this. is it worth it. Is there a big difference vs stock. Any other thought?

Thanks
Brad

The re-program will make big different. I heard Fabspeed is on the loud side, if you don't mind, it is a great upgrade. If you don't want it too loud, you may look for cargraphic export and others!

Maybe Ari can chime in here. He has the same setup just had the ECu re-tuned, Remus exhaust, EVO air Intake, billet diverter valves done.

I totally recommend upgrades! It's soo much faster! think abot it! 110 HP. 25% more power, same car!

But first I would check your car for boost leaks. .6 -.7 bar seems very low for an X50 car. Should be more like .8 with occasional .9s.

Ari is right about the boost pressure. Mine usually pegs at around .8/.9. Sometimes it spikes to 1.0 but that's not a daily occurance.

I usually see .9-.8-.9 in a 3rd gear pull. Sometimes 1.0 and a few times saw 1.1, and you can feel a difference when you get the higher boost.

You probably need new DVs or have a boost leak or the car isn't x50.

There is no comparison to the a stock car and even just an ECU mod. Night and day. The boost adds HP, but the drivability difference and the shift in power band is what is often not talked about but the one thing most feel immediately. The increase and TQ and the power now sooner than later.

I will vouch for Stephan, IA just sent me my stage 4 upgrade ( I already had the Europipe installed ) on my 2004 X50......much different car. The revs and boost build up much quicker. Im very happy with the upgrade and would recommend it on your car.

Stephen is right. The before and after diiference for ECU upgrade on my x-50 was HUGE. The power difference is a must have.

Most people report .6-.7 with an occasional spike to .8.

I agree with Ari.. I have a bone stock '03 X50 as well. In 5th gear, i will pull a steady .8 with spikes of .9

I am in the same boat as you and have been asking a lot of questions. Most folks say the cargraphic exhaust sounds fantastic without any resonance. The Europipe sounds sweet, but doesn't have the HP increase like Fabspeed. Fabspeed reports the highest HP increase for the X50. They claim over 55HP improvement with just exhaust. A few members have complained about resonance in the 2500-3000rpm range. Others frankly love it! You just have to drive in one to know for sure.

I'm planning to get the EVO 600 package. You don't need the turbo upgrade because you already have the K24's. Slap on a suspension kit and a GT2 wing and your call will be friggin KICK ***!!
