Cobb Stage 1 Tune

Hi all,

Has anyone used the Stage 1 tune map from a Cobb accessport on their 996 turbo? I've used Cobb tunes on past cars I've owned and I had an excellent experience.
I was just wondering what sort of performance gains I would see from just a stage 1 tune. I was checking out the Cobb website and have not seen a plot showing the performance benefits.
Hopefully someone from Cobb can chime in on this.

Yep, sure have. I had two Cobb tuned WRX STIs before I bought my 996 Turbo and like the AccessPort. The real value of the Cobb AP for our cars is a custom tune. Sam @ by Design did mine, I"m running a custom 1 bar tune for 100 octane and love the extra power and big torque surge!

Plenty are using it. Upgrade to a pro tune though cause COBB support themselves for the 996 is non-existent.

It's a good tune. I switched from EPL to the off the shelf COBB Stage 2 tune and they are pretty much the same to be honest. (Stage 2 is for aftermarket exhaust)

I went from APR to Cobb Stage 2 and felt no difference (wasn't expecting any) so it's got to be on par with almost any off the shelf tune for these cars. Just need to get around to having a pro-tune done.
