Custom 997 DRL
So I got the car about 6 months and the previous owner hacked the bumper grills to fit the 997 DRL.
Unfortunately since the lights were not meant for this car they looked cross-eyed, both pointing in and downwards. The other thing I didn't like was they were only Amber. The new ones are white for normal operation and change to amber for turn signal
Haven't decided if I should write a diy since hacking open perfectly good lighta scares a lot of people. But I took a bunch of pictures.
I used the profile pivot switch back strips from retrofit source. And I recleared the passenger light with some fresh 2k. And I will be doing a retro later after summer.
Anyways enjoy the photos

There from thereteofitsource, couple places sell them. But TRS manufacturers them. I ended up buying the 18" strip and cutting them in half, soldering new leads on the cut half and wiring everything together to only have one driver but it tevhnically voids the warranty.

Great job man! I’ve been thinking about 3D scanning the black grill and CAD out a design air duct feature similar to the new GT3 RS with integrate DRL. Time is all I need.

That would be pretty sweet, I have the knowledge to do a design just lack a 3d printer. Haven't seen a need to purchase one just yet but if you do I'd love to see it
