I have to say I am not a fan of it. As stated before this forum being focused on cars, not chicks lounging on them, is an asset. Lord knows the issues people might get slapped with if it pops up in the workplace.

The other point I might want to bring up it that it looks like a big ad page vs. a car enthusiast site. A front page that lures the car enthusiast in would be more productive (IMHO). But splashing ads with such abandon makes it look to busy and unfocused.

That being said this is just my opinion. It is your site and I am sure it will stay a wealth of information. This thru the dedication of the Mods and a very committed user community.

Tim, thanks for your opinion and I would like to discuss it a little further actually. Back when started 6speed we actually wanted to make this a virtual on line exotic car discussion oriented magazine (obviously the majority of the topic is Porsche).
The first phase was generate the membership to close to 10,000 (we are creeping up on that) and then the second phase was to offer more than just a discussion board, give the members extra content if they so desired.
We feel the new layout only enhances the 6speedonline experience as we branch out to new areas.
The first thing that excites me is the fact that we are part of a GT3 cup car that shows the world our community (Which we are very proud of). The second thing that excites me is the fact that not only will the forum look the way we originally wanted it to, All the "extras" will add the the experience, not detract. Furthermore if someone doesn't want the "6speed Girls" or any other extras they don't have to pay attention to it for they can always just bookmark on there browser the forums page.
Anyway thanks to all for the input and here's to the future!

Seesh, talk about over reacting about something. Guys, I really don't think that shank and the crew have there mind set on making thim some ****/car forum. It seems like they are just trying to add a little bit of fun, by adding a section committed to the "6speed" models. I'm sure they the mods and staff of this site won't let 6speed become some troll infested, nudie site, with car enthusiasts being an afterthought.

Secondly, who the hell cares if there is eye candy on the site. You guys can't talk about car's the when there are models around? Lighten up guys, Shank and crew did a great job with the previous 6speed, I trust them with the new design...

And I'm a perv

I don't think it is a matter of trust at all. As DJ stated this is where their original vision was going so more power to them. I think the original post was asking what you think (I may be wrong). I don't think nyone is "over reacting". Quite the contrary. When building a web site you need to try and consider as much of your audience as possible.

Suggestions here have been valid and well placed. My opinion is my opinion and wether it is taken into consideration is totally up to the owners. If my opinion and others helps tweak the sites appeal then that is what it was meant to do. Personally I don't care one way or the other about the "chicks and cars portion" 9 times out of 10 when I see those chicks lounging on the cars and I cringe with.....get off the paint!!

So guys, if this is where your vision is then more power to you. I will be here regardless. I was offering my .02 Just try to keep the front page clear and concise, less clutter the better

Hey Tim, my post wasn't really taking a shot at you... just to the members here who kinda took a shot at the direction the website was going in. As far as the design of the first page... it is a bit cluttered, but I still dig it. And none of us are really sure if thats even the first page, or just a teaser of what to come.

Maybe it's just me, but I’m having this funny feeling that the general tone on 6speed is going to turn from a bunch of guys in a garage talking cars - to a hyped up techno club atmosphere. It’s inevitable that with 6speed sponsoring the cup car, there is going to be a TON of undesired traffic coming our way.

I understand that 6speed will evolve so that the target audience will be satisfied which hopefully will increase revenue and improve the site. But I must admit that I do not understand the connection between erotic pictures and cars. I like the fact that on this forum, there's no cursing, people are often polite to eachother and even the members' kids can surf the board without their parents have to worry about the content of the site. I fear this will change, maybe the moral fiber in society as a whole is changing, but I for one feel that the cars-only orientation on 6speed contributed to its success.

With this said and if tastefully done, the girl feature will surely improve 6speed and attract new members. I'm confident that you'll do what's best for the board and its current members, as you (the moderators) always have done.

Except for the girls section, seems like a good direction to take, as long as the content is quality. There are several forums that have developed into a larger media site, like all the sites from Vortex Media Group, and I personally think it's great to make it more of a destination site.

It's missing a product review section though *cough*
