Antifreeze color mixing
Hey guys I had new, pink, antifreeze put in from Porsche dealership last time I had to replace a coolant temperature sensor , years ago .
Today I got a low coolant light .
So I added 1 quart of Porsche green mixed with 1 quart of distilled water to fill it .
Now my PCA pal said Porsche Green and Pink can not be mixed ??... I can not imagine that to be true , he said it would jell ?
I Can not find any real proven info on this .
Thanks

Maybe talk to a senior tech at the dealership. They should know all this stuff.
I just use a cheap generic 50/50 extended life anti-freeze. It say's "All makes, all models, mixes with any color of anti-freeze". Both my front end radiator tanks were leaking about 5 years ago, car would smell like burned coolant after s short ride. Senior tech friend whispered "Alumaseal" when I asked about radiator replacement costs. A trip to NAPA and $8 bucks later I was leak free, still am. And the cheap generic coolant works great in the TT, my Boxster, Lexus and Subaru Crosstrek.

You're supposed to use the OAT kind. If your green was IAT kind it can gel. Just replace it all with some OAT kind from NAPA auto parts if you aren't sure. Here is the 411: http://www.pedrosgarage.com/Site_5/Coolant_Antifreeze.html

as long as its "OAT" as brndrtns suggests, you'll be fine. i just r&r'd a rad. was using g13 before ( vw/audi/porsche pink ) and my pal had the zerex ( non branded oem fill ) gallon sitting around. i brought distilled water and beer. all is/was good.

If you just need a small amount to top off the coolant would some water wetter mix be OK? It seems to be an innocuous choice.
