I was doing an IC upgrade on my 03' tt and I found this white residue in my upper IC hose on the driver's side.(I have not checked passenger side yet) The residue is a little sticky but dry. Kind of chaulky. I also noticed the outside of the hose was turning a reddish color. I wipe down the engine compartment every run and noticed this discoloration about two or three runs previous.
Can anyone please identify this for me and tell me it's cause.
The car has 22k on it and I have owned since new.
The car has been running a tune and exhaust for about 18k of it's 22k.
Any help would be appreciated

 

Normal. Yours seems exacerbated maybe due to low mileage and relative little use.

 

I also found a slight coating of oil in the lower hose to turbo. Is this normal and related to the white residue in upper hose ?
