Unless you just mean the disc valve and solenoid? I noticed a few of the vacuum lines are NLA, but they're nowt really.

edit: just checked, the disc valve and vacuum change over solenoid are commercial items, so can be had much cheaper without the Porsche tax.

The oil pump was available when I checked a year or so ago. It was about $800. I’m running the Cup version of this pump. What was NLA was the actual external cooler itself along with a few other bits and pieces. I would simply call a dealer and give him the part numbers for latest availability status. Porsche does not repair gearboxes so if someone needs a repair, Porsche will only sell the gearbox complete with the cooler as a remanufactured unit.

What's the part number of the cup version?

I saw 2 pumps with vastly different prices, looks like one is 996, the other 997. No idea on the difference though, the 997 pump is listed on the G96/88 and G97/88, but the 996 pump, only on the 996 box.

99730702390....... $1,791.16
99630702390....... $ 639.12

There's also a few different oil cooler part numbers for the full assembly and parts, I'll update once I get clarification, but it seems the 996 oil cooler is used on both.

9963070158A...... Oil cooler complete
9963070208A...... Port plate (fits to pump)
99630720988...... Oil cooler

I've got a horrible feeling you might be right though, seeing as the box was sold without the cooler... If that's the case, I suppose i'd have to look at hooking up a laminova heart exchanger to the pump outlet.

I think you will find that only the $1700 997 pump is available now as you are probably dealing with a supersession. Good luck.

Did the parts supersede to 997/991 part numbers? I have found that they are not always the best about documenting superseded parts. A perfect example is the RWD front tension bolts. They have 15 different part numbers depending on model and year that all are superseded to two different options. And depending on which model you track to may not show that part number as a suitable substitute/replacement. Frustrating.

But a pump just recirculates and cools the fluid without the added lubrication that the factory setup adds with a pressurized oil stream. Just pulling from the sump and pushing through a cooler then dumping back in is great for cooling, but not what I would do if I were to add a cooler setup.

IMO adding the capacity and cooling to the fluid should be more than sufficient for most. Is there any data to show adding the spray bar is the way to go. I think someone did it before, IMO seems like a lot of work. Adding the cooler and lines with pump to drop temp is pretty simple.

Well, I am sure Porsche's Motorsport division did their homework when they decided to implement on the GT2/3 all the way up to the RS cars. It may be overkill for me, but factory solutions on something as critical as the gearbox offer a certain sense of confidence that bolt-on aftermarket solutions.
