Need help with Coilovers

Hey guys. I know this has been discussed, but I can't search to forum. I've just pulled the trigger on a Fabspeed exhaust and ECU Flash and want to upgrade the suspension. I'm very close to buying a used JIC Cross setup, but have heard a few negative things from a couple 6speeders.

I use this car as a daily driver, have never tracked it. I would like to track it sometime for kicks, but this will be a rare occasion. I just want it lowered and a little tighter. Recommendations?
PSS9's, JIC, ROW? what would do you guys like?

Thanks,
Todd

I've only had mine for a few days (JIC's 9kg/12kg), but it's been super compared to PSS9's so far. Ride quality is great, and handling is great. The front is even a tad lower now (115mm/120mm f/r).

Are the JICs overkill for a road? Lots of $ for just DD IMO. Go PSS9.

You want to find out what spring rate is in those coilovers. I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head, but they have a few different spring options. I know that recently they have been softening up there spring rate to accomodate the daily driver. However, if they were purchased a few years back they have the siffer springs and is probably the reason they were removed from the original car. If you find that they do have the stiffer springs you can order a softer set from JIC. As for performance you get a big bang for your buck. The nice thing about the Cross is that they include the monoball kit which will help when it comes to setting diffrent cambers and your alignment all together. Another plus is that they are 15 way adjustable verses most that are 9 way adjustable. In whatever suspension you get just make sure you pay close attention to your spring rate. Good luck, drive fast and don't get caught.

I found the PSS9 a bit too soft and wobbly. The JIC's are actually quite good for street use, at least in the spec I run. They are not much more than what PSS9's run normally. In terms of $$$, they are a long, long way from Moton's.

I have mine on the stiffest setting, and with the 507/670 (metric conversion) spring rates, it doesn't ride any harsher than my Acura sedan. I know a few guys locally who've had problems with their older JIC's, but so far I haven't experience any.

Problems have usually been with the drop links and the springs being too stiff for the shocks. So they suffer from pogoing.. Stick to the "medium" springs and I think you guys will be a-ok

The camber plates are a nice idea, only trouble is you're not going to have much luck trying to adjust them on the car since there's no room to do so

I put the RUF coilovers on mine and its awesome. The comfort level on the street is great and I have noticed a huge improvement on the track. You may want to give the RUF Auto Center in Dallas a call before making your decision....
