So I picked up a 2001 996 TT with unknown service history. I’ve got a fuel filter, air filter, oil change kit, brake pads, brake fluid, SS brake lines, plugs, coils, 2nd gear detent, and boost leak tester all on the way to cover some of the maintenance items.
However the car does have a CEL on and will occasionally cut out and shake above 4K RPM’s regardless of the gear I’m in. I lost my scanner so I went to Autozone to have the CEL tested and this is what came back.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so did just changing out the crankshaft positioning sensor fix it? As for the fuel tank ventilation code, could that have been caused by the fact the fuel filter line had a hole rubbed through it and was leaking.
i've replaced my cps before. but only because i was sure i needed to. the car didn't shake but if ever there was a part i was gonna throw at the car? let it be a 50$ cps. gl w it.
