One fast Cobra

Today I was driving my bro to get something to eat, when out of no where this silver Cobra pulls up next to us and rev's his engine. My bro wanted my to punch it, but there was too much traffic in the area so I followed him for a mile or 2. We finally got to a light and punched it. And to my surprise we were equally matched. At the next light we talked to the guy and he stated that his Cobra had 575-600 HP, but his car wasn't running as it should so he was closer to about 500 HP. Even if he was lying about the condition of his car, his Cobra was f*ckin' fast!

Probably supercharged. There was a post here with video a while back of one pulling on an x-50 and a stage 2 turbo. Definately fast cars and good bang for the buck.

there are quite a few modded cobras that are faster than a 911 turbo, at least in a straight line...

Yup of course, they can be very quick, and Scott's turbo at stage 2 didnt even lose that bad to that 600+ rwhp cobra

Yeah that was probably me and Lou. I was in my old '03 Cobra (501rwhp 484rwtq) Lou had a '05 TurboS with Exhaust. I had a passenger. With a equal hit we were very close from a roll if not even. IF one of us stole the hit that person won. cobra's are Heavy (mine was like 3800lbs without me), but can get to 500rwhp very easily.

Yeah car is a pig, but quick. Just don't jam on the brakes if you are in front of him lol.
I know against Shank's Gallardo from 50-180 I put between 0.5-1 car on him. Was quite surprised at that one, but Shank did have a passenger.

Being a Mustang enthusiast as well, Mustangs can be VERY quick. With an upgraded SC, and a few other mods you can have a pretty quick car, in a straight line that is. I'm a big fan of Kenne Bell for Mustang SC's, the whine is oh so sweet music to my ears. Tom03Lightning what type of mods to the cobra?

My cobra was an '03 just basic mods. Ported blower, 2.8" upper pulley (so about 15lbs of boost), no mufflers, chip. Cold Air intakel. If that car weighed like 3300lbs it would be FAST, but the weight really hurts it. Rumor is the new GT500 will still be up near 3750lbs.

I have always been a fan of all the cars that have come out of Modular PowerHouse, and this is one of the cobra's they did with a ported eaton. Although the whine to alot of people gets annoying, I love it. I might be breaking the law on here by posting this video but hey its a thread about a fast mustang haha....

Cobra's have 3 major weaknesses:
1. Weight, which has been discussed
2. Rearend, it is so fragile it might as well be made of glass. Seems as though all the higher HP cobra's swap out to a solid rearend. Also if you ever crawl underneath and look at the rear-end you can so tell that it was a complete afterthought, and is one of the worst engineered IRS setups I have ever seen.
3. Transmission Input shaft, Way too week. Only 10 spline. Very common for it to snap even with mild mods (Usually on hard 2-3 shifts). Common upgrade is a 26 spline input shaft, basically the one from the viper.
