Stereo upgrades.. got some questions..

Is it me, or does the search function on this forum not work properly?? I can't pull anything useful on this search engine.

Regarding the 911TT stereo, I need to replace it. Doesn't sound good at all. I don't think I have the bose system (don't see any bose letters). I need to know what the speaker sizes are for the dash, doors, and rears. I know I could open them, but figured I'd ask my buddies first.., so thanks!

I'm not looking to spend a bunch on the stereo, just enough to make me happy. Any websites or links you could send me to so I could research a fellow 911TT install?

Thanks,
Bojan

Jag,

I was trying to see if there were any meets coming up. Let me know when and where, or send me to a webpage if available.

Regarding your deck, let me know what you thought of it. I'm looking for a dvd deck as well.., but wasn't sure if I wanted to go that route or not.

Any ideas on the speakers sizes though, thats what I'm looking for..

Thanks,

Bojan

Europipe Stage 2 Loud or Cargraphic will give you sweet sound music you need. LOL.

I am thinking to get you Seattle 6speeders together on Sat March 18th for a cruise to Bremerton Raceway for PCA Autocross and to visit Max RPM Shop, an EVO dealer. I'll keep you post it fo sure. Vincent

Vincent man, my exhaust is loud as hell. Trust me, I'm still trying to get used to it. On the M5, I had B&B Triflows, and that thing rumbled good. But the Porsche with its Remus exhaust, is like nascar. The thing is scary loud, I swear there are no cats on it.

But the stereo is still a necessity.

I'm all for a get together, just keep me on a list and inform me to the where/when.

Thanks!

I found the stereo was awful when I got my TT-I upgraded the amp and all the speakers for $1,700 and the stereo is now excellent.(Audiotec Fischer amp and Mac audio speakers)

I squeezed some 6x9's imbetween the rear seats and the rear bulkhead (in a box) and they are fantastic.

Bojan,

I have worked with Mike at Audio Dynamics (in Issaquah) for my sister's m3. Also Dale knows Mike really well. Give him a call and he might be able to guide you in the right direction. His number is 425-394-1122 and tell him Kunal sent you.

I ended up getting an Eclipse 8454 headunit from a friend. He had it in his showcar and decided to sell the car. The unit is basically brand new, top of the line from last year. I like Eclipse headunits..., had them in the past.

So I'm going to get it installed tomorrow, and was considering installing my Diamond Audio 5 1/4 components and tweets w/ another set of 5 1/4 coaxials. I just wonder if it will all fit. I also wonder if I need to purchase another amp to power everything..., as I don't think the headunit is strong enough.

Lastly, I have a 2 10" Eclipse subs just sitting in the garage. I was considering putting one of those behind the back seats in a custom box, but was also considering if I could squeeze a bass tube back in there.

Anyways, if anyone has any advice on the install and components I'm using, please let me know.

Thanks,
Bojan

I have the eclipse unit now. It has engine noise which I cannot get rid of for the world. Let me know if you get any engine noise when yours is installed. I have two 10's on my back shelf. You will need amps for sure though.

Jags,

You have the same eclipse headunit as I mentioned? I'm sure that wine is due to the 8volt preamps coming out of the headunit, atleast thats what I heard from others after doing a long search. Do you have a pic of the two 10's?? I'd love to see it. And I have a big freakin roll of Dynomat, did you install any?? How are your rattles, as my car rattles by the passenger airbag, and somewhere behind the driver seats.

Thanks man!

I have the avn5495 and car toys spent half a day on it and still could not get rid of the wine. I did all my own install and built my own box. I do need to get some dynomat done on the head liner though.

How does it work if I put in a active subwoofer (bazookalooking thing/tube) with my PCMII? Will it work? Anything to think of?

Thanks!
