Also, I did see the lapis blue car on pcarmarket.com, and I’m kind of obsessed with that one, depending on where the auction goes. It’s a little more than I wanted to spend, but I’d rather buy a more expensive car that would retain its value vs. a cheaper car that’s gonna bottom out when it comes time to sell.
This blue one looked very nice^ may still be out there for $65k
I didn't see anyone mention transmission concerns but any of these with a track history, or even just 50k miles on it, could need a lot of $ in that area.
I don’t officially have one in the driveway, but I’m following through with the high mileage car. PPI came back flawless mechanically. Transmission had been gone through in the last year as well. I don’t mind dropping a little cash on cosmetic stuff as long as the car is solid.

yeah I talked to that owner a lot during and after the auction. I was commit to buy, but my wife put the stop on it.
Agreed. I had officially said I didn’t care about price, I was so obsessed with that car. She about threw up when I told her I was going to spend twice what I first told her I could get a car for. Something about kids and college funds. Whatever.

Buy something like this: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/t-Used...ting=260268564
You won't spend much on it, it won't depreciate much.
Doesn't have as many expensive variables that could sideline your driving since the wife's too involved and sounds like you have more important things (kids).
my .02
I finally said F*** it and pulled the trigger on the high mileage car. Title checked out, previous work performed and PPI clear, and receipts from that initial accident were included only totaling up to about $4k worth of work back in 2003. It shined up pretty nicely in my opinion. Runs like a bat out of hell. At the end of the day, it’s just money... can’t take it with you....
