went to local dealer(been servicing all my porsches there for 15 years) to show them my dash is "peeling" away about 3 weeks ago. they told me no problem we will order it and put it thru warranty. I've been calling them for week and a half and keep telling me it could take a couple of mos. to get..is this a fact or should they have gotten it already??

I had the c pillar leather interior trim replaced on my last Carrera, and it took a few months. Apparently they don't stock them, so it was a special order.

Hi Bill,

I've been ordering some custom parts lately... and it seems that ANYTHING that has leather takes a month or two (or longer) to get in.

For instance; I order CF side vents and defroster trim, all of which have leather surfaces, back in November. To date, the defroster parts came in (one was broken so it had to be returned) and one vent came in (but the leather was the wrong color so IT had to be returned).

So... four pieces ordered, three arrived in two months, one broken, one the wrong color and I have one defroster trim piece sitting in my closet waiting <grin>.

Hang tight... they're not jerking you around.

I would think that the standard non leather dashboard is quicker to get but maybe the whole part is in general tough, who knows.
