SpeedTech 2.5 X-Pipe
For anyone contemplating our 996TT 2.5 X-Pipe, below is a copy of an email I received this morning from KG. It pretty much sums up our thoughts about the 2.5 with SE tips, as well.
John,
Thank you for spending time answering all of my questions and helping me select the correct exhaust for my 2003 Porsche 996 twin turbo. I purchased the 2.5 inch x pipe with free flow cats, muffler delete and the special "sound engineered" exhaust tips.
I had the car in the shop for a large job starting with a clutch/flywheel replacement and many other preventive maintenance measures, like pinning the water pipes. And I added the exhaust upgrade to the list. When my mechanic called me to tell me the car was ready, he immediately said, "You are going to love the exhaust sound".
He was so right. The sound is perfect and has no drone whatsoever. You can carry on a normal conversation while cruising, but when you step on it, the growl is simply addictive.
I took it to a Porsche event this morning and as soon as I got out of the car, everyone wanted to know about the exhaust. My car became a SpeedTech advertisement.
