I just wanted to comment on the 3.0 crossflow exhaust I got from SpeedTech - it sounds amazing! I had a 2.5: X-cellerator and it sounded great but I wanted something louder. John at SpeedTech gave me some options as his systems can be configured in different ways and I went with the 3.0 muffler and tips.

The car sounds raw at start up and gets your attention. As the car warms up the tone quiets down so it is comfortable but once you floor it, it barks like a rabid dog - it sounds amazing!

Great service and a great quality exhaust = one happy 996T owner. No affiliation, just a happy customer.

Nice system. I have run both between customer cars and the 2.5 is great if you don't want drone. As low as they come in that department and sounds awesome making great power.

I have a 6 speed and I have not noticed any drone. It sounds comfortable at cruising speed on the freeway - some systems drone and can be annoying on long drives but I have not had that problem.

 

Any vids of the exhaust?

 

No, sorry, no vids but I am pretty sure the Speedtech site has video or both the 2.5 and the 3.0 in action.

 

Thanks, Sam - that means a lot coming from someone like you with the vast experience you have with modding these cars. I know you have seen, installed and driven it all during your time at Speed Gallery....so your opinion is extremely valuable and backed up by hands on experience.
