Ahhhh, well I haven't timed it yet myself. But one of the guys at Hendrick here has two of them nearly identical and he said it would run sub 3. We'll see ... it's fast regardless ... and it has such an awesome low rumble sound when coming off of a run. Joe put this thing together right although I'm sure it doesn't touch some of his others. hahahaha

Window tinting tomorrow and 19" Champion wheels next week ... should "cap" this thing off nice.

BTW, love your Black TT Cab ... awesome. I might pick up one of those in the next few months and replace one of my 944's.

Joe, the car is awesome ... I totally love it. I blacking out the windows tomorrow and then putting some 19" Champions on it next week. You guys did everything else perfect.

I wish I could drive it out but I'm flying to Scottsdale for a week from May 28 thru June 4. Of course I'd love to see your GT700 and the CGT sometime that week when you have time. I'll be on vaca visiting family so I have plenty of time ... no business to do. Wooo hooo. hehe

Thanks again ... see you in late May.

HAVE FUN NEXT WEEKEND AT YOUR EVENT!! ... WISH I COULD BE THERE. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE PICS AND VIDS YOU POST ONLINE.

... was starting to fall in love with this car. The clutch failed on me under normal driving conditions on Saturday night, 3 weeks and a day after I got it. I was on the on-ramp to the John Belk freeway ... shifted from 2nd to 3rd, everything was fine prior to that - no signs of slippage or anything, and BAM, it was GONE just like that. The engine kept running normally and I rolled to a stop. I had to wait on the side of the Freeway for a tow truck for a friggin hour in a $100+k car. What a shame.

Joe, has this thing been dragged or driven aggressively before? I have less than 500 miles on it, and nothing aggressive at all on my end ... still getting to know the car a bit. There's no way this clutch should have failed like that.

Anyone have any thoughts as to what it might be besides the clutch itself ... such as the linkage between the pedal and the clutch / engine? The pedal just went soft and would not engage at all. It was a SUDDEN FAILURE.

How many miles are on it.
It is safe to say it hasnt been babied, and
an X-50 (with K-24's) and ECU tuning will give it
lots of torque which depending on driving style is too
much for the stock clutch.
Beautiful car: love the Aero Kit and the CF interior.
Put a decent clutch in it and go out and enjoy it!
Congradulations!

Thanks for the reply WOODSTER ...

It has 22,200 miles on it. I've put roughly 500 on it so far, and have only "gotten on it" a few times, but nothing hard at all ... just typical acceleration moves, etc.

Someone else told me it might be due to too much torque on the factory clutch. But it's hard to believe it would just drop out so quickly on me under "normal use".

I had it towed to the local dealer to be looked at today. What type of clutch (upgrade) would you recommend?

Thanks again, Craig

get the sachs stage 3 with the flywheel.... either todd at protomotive gets good deals or kevin at ultimate motorwerks... but get the RS version... it was awesome... just my opinion... since I had one and I loved it. here is my new one: a work of art

Haha VRAlexander ... good stuff!

Thanks a bunch for the clutch advice guys ... I'll take that up with Hendrick in the morning.

Quick question guys ... what do you think of vertically hinged doors on a 911? Tacky or cool? I can't decide. I love them on other cars but can't figure out if they ruin what a true Turbo is. Here's some pics:

Thoughts / opinions are appreciated.

P.S. My new baby is gonna be GUTTED tomorrow. What a shock.

Craig
