Porsche close call (video)
I think you guys are being too generous calling this guy a Moron. See below for appropriate classification.

I don't agree with him, and he did put that other car in danger, not smart. But, there are alot of others on here that talk about this and no one jumps on them.

i agree w/ you. anyone who denies they haven't been in a close call like this is lying their *** off.
it was dangerous, yes, stupid, absolutely, but once you hit triple-digit speeds on a public road, there are few "right conditions."

Regardless of whether the two cars sped up, which it doesn't really look like they did, the guy in the TT could easily see all of them, and should have backed off. No excuses. ****ing tool.

The only people that know exactly what happened are the three cars that were on the road at that time. What he did was reckless, but there is not ever a good time to speed on the highways. They were running at somewhere around 1 o'clock in the morning on a six lane interstate. Can't get much safer than that to do hi-speed runs.
Not defending the guy, I just know that I have been in groups like that before and no one intends to screw up. The guy might not be that big of a moron depending on what the situation was, he might have avoided a much bigger accident by doing a maneuver like he did.

this is an example of it, presumably, turning out worse than the driver expected. no one w/o a death wish would attempt what the driver did...
if you've gone "in excess of the speed limit", you endangered other people's lives. were you alone? on a barren road? without cars in either direction? without parents, kids, or friends? i'll be the first to admit i've sped in excess of the speed limit on public roads w/ other cars on the road; fortunately, it didn't turn into the desparation of this guy's action. however, to call him a tool or worse, is hypocrtical. if you've ever drag-raced on the street, you are guilty of the same crap.
we've all had our mishaps to varying degrees, but if you endangered one life, including your own, you are as guilty as this guy.

and what was he doing? driving faster than the speed limit where he obviously misjudged the distance he had. few people set out to purposely drive like this; the odds increase exponentially when you are driving faster than other cars.
i was driving triple digit speeds once - no one on the road but one car who was 2 lanes to the left. what happens as i approach her? for whatever reason, she pulls 2 lanes to the left right in front of me.
did i expect that? absolutely not.
was i prepared? in the brief instance i had, i ran into the emergency lane.
did i almost cause a terrible accident? yes.
and, again, i ask - you've never found yourself in a dangerous situation on a public road where your driving nearly caused harm to others? i don't think anyone on this board, particularly those w/ high-performance cars, can truthfully answer yes to that question.

It was a stupid choice to sqweeze through...i've done my triple digit duty...and got a ticekt for it...the whole thing..104 in a 70. BUT....i made sure no one was on the road or nearby and made sure i was alone in my car...if anything happened it was me alone.
