Will we start seeing ALOT more turbos as prices keep coming down?
You guys are all right. As I have said being a dealer most cars go down in price...If your looking to make money buy real estate...at least in California.HA
Keep in mind though I have a 512TR that I bought a few years back that I paid almost what they cost new(although not with markup) so ...hey...just enjoy.

Sigh!......... Ive been trying to get rid of my TT for over a year. I dont think I'll ever be able to get rid of the *&^^%$%@#%$#@%$ thing! By the the time I'll decide to fold and go to a dealer and bend over, I might not get more than 30 K.

This is a very interesting thread, but as someone who has recently bought an 02 TT I doubt prices will decrease a lot from current levels. Plus, the TT will be a weekend/go out at night car for me so I plan on keeping it for a long, long time meaning that I could care less what happens to the value in the short term.
I think that one thing that may keep a lot of buyers away from used TTs will be the maintenance costs.

Hey hey,
What's with this precarious discrimination against young people.
I'm not very young, but I feel young (turning 25 this Oct), anyhow, does it matter if more young people jump onto the Porsche bandwagon? And what's wrong with seeing more and more TTs on the road? All the more reason to personalize and modify your vehicle to extend/express more of yourself and personal style.
I think the influx of youth, is great for the Porsche image...not too long ago, I considered a Porsche as a "mid-life-crisis-hey-look-im-beginning-to-bald" vehicle. But seeing more and more enthusiasts/tuners offering beautiful accessories+tuning, that rapidly went away. Mind you, I paid for every inch of my 997 myself, and am proud to be able to afford the status/prestige of the porsche emblem. Why does a person have to be old to own a beautiful and amazing driving machine?
Don't hate the playa, hate the game!

The prices of these cars are absolutely seasonal. There is a national market and when half the country is freezing the price shrinks with demand. As soon as it heats up, so will the prices.
I also think the introduction of the 997TT will generate a lot of hype and as people upgrade, the market will be there to pick up the older cars that people will have to settle for. Not everyone can afford a new turbo.
A low mileage Supra is still going for 30K. I doubt we'll see a drastic drop for low mileage cars.
I'm going to get a daily a driver soon and enjoy my car for many years as a weekend car. 911 turbos never go out of style and the performance will keep up for many years as far as I'm concerned.
Of course we're all speculating. It's easy to lose sight of the fact these cars are consumable want items.

I have no bad feeling against any younger guys getting a TT. I owned my first Porsche at 20 years old, it was a awsome 911S I wish I still had it. I grew up in NY and all my buddies had GTO's and GTX's and the like, not that they were bad cars...but its great to appreciate these great cars at a young agelearn about them and keep moving up....BTW I still have ALL my hair...

!1) Most of the young people here are wannabe dreamers who have little, if anything, to contribute to the discussion.
2) It is my experience that most people have their heads up their *** until the age of 35 or so.
Case in point: using quotes like this...

As of now, the car is still quite expensive and hard to afford especially for young kids. But in like 5 years, a 2001 turbo from someone who hardly drove it, will be worth about $30k? The younger generation LOVES this car. So wouldnt you assume there will be a ton more of them on the streets soon and it will be common looking?
I mean granted, you dont see a ton of Ferraris on the road because they are expensive to fix and not as reliable. But turbos are pretty reliable.
What do you think?

I agree on the quote...but hell..I'd live with quote to be 25 again....its not so much being 25 as it is dating 25 year old woman....anyway...I'm moving off topic so I will say this. If you love the cars you belong..if not then go away and leave us in our fantasy..

This is kinda of funny. When I bought my 04 Turbo Cab recently at a little over a 100k with 4,600 miles on it "MSRP $142,000 not counting the HRE wheels" I had a tough time convincing the wife it will probably be less expensive or at least a wash over the next three years than the Corvette Vert we owned with a $62K price new.
I guess we will see. I don't really care. But I thought it was an interesting take!
The other car I looked at to replace the Vert was a C6 Z06 and I know with out a doubt I will be better off with a $100K plus 04 Turbo Cab than a Z06 at $5000 plus over MSRP!
