GMG Top Porsche @ Long Beach GP -Speed GT this weekend.

Wow...

What a weekend-

After some very very late nights getting the car back together after our "incident" at St.Pete the weekend before last. We are happy to report that
the #14 GMG 996GT Cup car was the top finishing Porsche in the Speed GT race this pass weekend at the Long Beach GP-

James had an awesome race and very tough battle with Lawson in the NEW (St.Pete GP winning) 997 Cup... Although the factory backed 997Cup was able to challenge several times for position he was not able to pass and James's conistent driving allowed him to finish 5th overall and ahead of the 997 taking the top placing Porsche honors..

It is clear the the Vipers Cady's and Corvette's have an advantage in HP - aero and weight over the Porsche cars. Adjustments are being made to make the Porsche cars more competitive-

I really wanted to thank all the 6-speeders who came by and said hello...

I was amazed ----There had to have been well over 100 people who either post or read this forum who came by and were pulling for our small team..

It was nice to have real fans in the stands during the race..

Again thanks to all who came by and supported our efforts this past weekend..

Here are a few shots from the weekend..

Enjoy!

Congratulations, that's fantastic news. Plenty of life left into the 996 cup cars.

Congrats!

I've run with several new 997 cups this year and know that James had to be on his game to keep the more powerful, quicker shifting 997 in his mirrors.

Good Job!

Unfortunetly No...

That viper has alot of POWER and its a BIG car..

That thing would just pull away down the straight...
We can catch them in the corners - under braking and the tight twisty stuff - but thats it...

This is the only track where we get into 1st gear and go all the way up to 6th - down shoreline..

Its a drag race ...

Porsche 3.6 6 cylinder WCGT Spec =460 HP
Viper 8.2 liter v10 claiming 550 HP YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!

Oh well so goes racing

There will be adjustments to the other cars soon... So we should be looking pretty good for the upcoming races....

IT WAS AWESOME TO SAY THE LEAST-

For the first time out @ LBGP I think we ( the entire speed gt field) showed very well.

The fans very apprciative of the cars and being able to get up close with the crews and drivers - unlike some other series....
They can relate to the cars-

The race was clean- tons of action - plenty of passing and tight racing..

I hope they have us back next year.
