Weird boost question

The other day I was driving a steady 65 mph. I then proceeded to press the gas very slowly in 6th gear to about a steady .5 bar then depressed the gas to wot, but the car would not boost past .5 and slowly accelerated. After about 2 seconds of this, I then let the gas off and then pressed the gas to the floor hard and then the car boosted a regular 1.2 bar. Question is does throttle position have anything to do with how quickly the car will boost. I know if I floor the car I hit 1.2 all day long, but if I slowly let the boost creep and floor it why would it not increase boost pressure in this one instance? I keep on trying to remind myself to try to make this happen again, but forget once I am in the car.

Also no cels or any other lights on.

Just one question/comment...you are in 6th gear at 65mph...I am in 4th for this speed...I don't hit 6th until about 120mph.

Could be the boost timing valve going bad?

Sometimes I just cruise then hit the gas. It was at that time a non-spirited drive for me. Just a cruise to go to Baltimore.

Up On 3 Racing is infamous around these parts
It sounds like your just bogging down the car. If the car runs fine except when your going 65MPH in 6th and punch it then the car is running fine. You can't expect the car to be in 6th gear going 65 mph and then punching it and making 1.2 bar. It's only going to make 1.2 bar in the higher RPM's. MY guess is that if you down shift to 3rd or 4th you will find the boost your looking for. Good luck.

The car does run 100% fine all of the time. This is one isolated incident where I was not really getting into it, but then punched it. I know the boost creeps very slow at lower speeds, but higher gears, but my car does seem to build boost pretty quickly in every gear...that is how I feel about it though.
I think I may not be explaining correctly what happened that day.
